A downloadable game for Windows

BitBlock Blast

Gameplay:

Walls built out of blocks move in from each side of the room. The only way to not get crushed is to throw your ball at the correctly colored blocks, which destroys the whole wall and rewards you with points. There are only two different colors to keep track of, blue & orange, with only one of them being active at a time. When the background color + details are blue you have to hit the blue blocks, and if you hit an orange block the color switches to orange without destroying the wall, making it the target color. This is all you need to know to be able to play the game but don't let the simplicity fool you, there is a lot of hidden depth and a very high skill ceiling for those who want to master the flexible moveset.

As the extremely skilled athlete you are, you can slide, spin, dash, wall bounce and air-juggle you're way through any challenges you face. All of the moves work together in a way which lets you create your own style of playing. Oh and they also feel super good!

A random miniboss will spawn every minute to stir up the gameplay.

Story:

In the not so distant future, mankind has found a way to combine Esport with regular sport. This new VR technology can put the player inside the game, where they have to physically perform the tasks themselves. As the technology is very new, the first type of games created for it had to be simple in scope, much like the old video games like Pong and Tetris. Out of these, BitBlock Blast is the one that really took off among the athletes as it let them show off their superior reflexes and reactive thinking.

Plans:

Our target platforms are desktop, mobile and Switch. It might seem like the controls are too complex for a mobile game but we have taken great care in keeping the input as simple and few buttons as possible. With a streamlined mobile version only needing buttons for left, right, jump and action.

There is a perk system in the works which lets you customize the experience of each round. (the perk menu is in the demo build but the perks themselves don't do anything yet)

A local (and possibly online) multiplayer is also planned with different gamemodes where you either work together or play against a second player.

There will be a tutorial which goes through all the different mechanics.
